8 Wedding Gown Trends to Look Out for in 2016

January 19, 2016 Lifestyle

Goodbye Princess, Hello Queen
The 8 Prevailing Trends of Wedding gowns 2016
Just a few months ago, the hottest wedding trend was the princess gown. Well, ding dong the princesses grew up. The average age of the blushing bride is now 27. It’s definitely reflected on the runway. The prevailing trends of 2016 show a more sophisticated, accomplished bride. There’s whimsy hiding here and there but like all good queens, only used sparingly and wisely.
Trend #1- Plunging V-Line disguised as Keyholes
According to NYTimes and Huffingtonpost, the plunging neckline is feverishly hot. It accentuates the clavicle and keeps the eyes on the bride. Like the heading reads. sometimes the designers and queens used an ounce of restraint and the plunging v-line masquerades as a keyhole. Simple and effective.
Trend #2- Sheer Paneling
Transparency separates the 23 yo from the 27 yo. It’s been used for years on wedding gowns but what makes 2016 different is where the sheer panels now lay. Designers like Alon Livine White have decided a little bit of leg goes a long way. Others decided to make some of their gowns a little cheeky. The bride to be doesn’t need a short dress to feel flirty anymore.
Trend #3 Cascades
For a softer look, designers have incorporated cascades. 2016 is showing complicated to simple cascades with anything from outskirts and Watteau trains to cascading ruffles and folding waterfalls. This makes for a regal and defying look.
Trend #4 3-D Floral

Coupled with sheer paneling and a plunging neckline, the 3-d floral trend is icing on a fundamentally sound gown. This detail can make a gown anything the bride wishes. Whimsical. Sexy. Formidable. Receptive. Artistic. Elegant. Anything goes.
Trend #5 Prints
The thing about a 27 yo old bride is this-she doesn’t care what Queen Victoria wore. She wants color and a lot of it. Floral prints seem to be the fave of renegade brides and designers alike. Hopefully, more will follow.
Trend #6 Two piece
Perhaps the beauties of Persia have finally been heard on the runway because the two piece gown has made its way. The bride drawn to this trend will enjoy freedom of movement and understated sexiness. Two often overlooked qualities of an accomplished bride.
Trend #7 Hues of Pink
Some queens still have a little bit of princess left in them. Some of them embrace their anarchist but aren’t quite ready to show it but most just love pink. Soft hues of pink straddles and rules all that is bride, woman and queen. It’s the system loophole and it’s stunning.
Trend #8 Feathers
For the diva, the new trend is feathers. They can be cascading. They can flow from the runway up or the runway down and the waistline down. They have a Hollywood glamour that is hard to ignore.

With these 8 hot trends coming for the brides of 2016, there is much for the eye to feast. Deep necklines, illusion bottoms and billowy cascades to whet the appetite. Floral in 3-D and print to digest. Finally finishing the courses with a shimmer of pink and the touch of a feather. These 2016 wedding gown trends with leave to eyes full with wonder and delight and all queens shall be hailed.
